Lawnya Vawnya is a music & art festival based out of St. John’s, NL. I’ve been working with Lawnya Vawnya for many years now and their branding identity is close to my heart. While developing, it became important to us that the brand felt reflective of Newfoundland nature and culture in St. John’s without being kitschy and overly traditional. We wanted to provide a modern perspective on a timeless place. To do this we used rough, illustration that represented the windy, rough terrain found on the rocky island — jagged edges, messy lines, and colours that were drawn from the earth.
