The roots of my career as a designer are actually in photo retouching. My first job was retouching photos for an e-commerce company. The number of files I had to work per day were through the roof. By doing this, though, I became really proficient with my photoshop pen tool, colour adjusting, and general photo manipulation. Eventually, I began using these skills to do collage and as time passed, I wanted to do more arduous and challenging projects. This poster for Local Natives took days and days of carefully cutting out vintage botanical prints and then arranging them in a complimentary way. It’s one of my favourite design pieces as it represents my own personal growth as a designer. It was also special as it was for two great bands, Local Natives and Wild Nothing.
